I went to Greece for two weeks and was in the shock of my life. I had NO IDEA they had a stray problem. Every time I turned around there was another stray. I saw children kicking and hitting the dogs, I saw dogs with all their ribs showing, I saw dogs so matted (even when they had an owner) they must've been hurting. The dogs that did have an owner were usually put on a very very short leash and kept outside in the heat. I cried every day. Every time I would go to feed or pet the animals I was told to leave them alone and not feed them (of course I didn't listen). The reason for not feeding the dogs is because they follow you home and bark all night for more food. It was truly and unbearable site for me to witness. The poor animals only wanted love, attention and food. The ones I did pet were so sweet and ate up all the love I gave them. There was one that was just a puppy that wouldn't go near humans because it was afraid. Every time I threw food to it, it would run away and then have to find the food. My guess is people threw things at it so it was scared from that. I needed to vent, so thanks for listening.
