Default HELP = Paper training

Hi all,

I'm new to this forum and wanted some advice from fellow Yorkie owners. I have a 6 month old pedigree Yorkshire Terrier called Honest Abe (my husband's american so wanted an american president's name!)

We live in the UK in a small 2 bedroom apartment on the 1st floor and although I do not work, we decided to paper-train Abe. It's been hard and has taken nearly the whole 4 months since we brought him home, but occasionally he does pee on the carpet.

I've trawled through websites and training manuals and forums to seek help on how to deal with this; I know not to rub his nose in it and not to be angry, but I'm really frustrated. Abe only pees on the carpet about once every 1-2 days and always does in a different place.

I'm desperate for advice. I take Abe out twice a day also to train him that he can go outside.

Help! I love Abe to bits and my landlord's going to be very angry with the pee-spots everywhere!

Many thanks,
