I remember I talked to the groomer (she comes to the vet's place twice a week and I happened to be there one day that she was) and she said to bring Tatum in around 4-6 months for her first grooming. Well, Tatum did so well for me with nail clipping and feminine area trimming that I just didn't need to. Her hair was real silky too so it just laid down real nice. I don't think she had her first official grooming with this lady until almost a year old. She's not so good for me anymore with the nail trimming but I still do the paw pad trimming and feminine/hiney trimming (with a little buzz clipper) so she doesn't go very often at all. She's been professionally groomed now twice that I can think of off-hand and she'll be two years in February.

Our poodle had to go every 4-5 months or so though because he got all gremlin-like bushy. I guess since Tatum's hair lays down, it's not so hard. But I don't trust myself to trim any other areas on Tatum!
