Heard the same thing from my Dentist. He also said that a Popcorn Kernal can kill the tooths root.
I had one stuck under a crown not long after a root canel. It drove me crazy and the dentist was able to get it out. I think it is best not to chew pop corn, but to swollow it whole. Maybe that will cause choking to death. No more pop corn!
