How old is your baby? From your other thread, I gather he is 12 weeks or younger. That is very early to expect most Yorkies to be potty trained. He has a tiny bladder that isn't fully developed.
Take your pup outside after each meal, after each play time, when he wakes up and before you go to bed, and many times in between. When he does pee in the right place, praise him profusely and give him a piece of kibble for doing it right. | I agree. Our trainer says it's best to take a puppy out every two hours. And watch for indicators . . . .
they always give indicators that they're getting ready to pee. (and no 2 dogs are the same)
When Leroy first came home, he had never seen dirt or grass, so he didn't know what it was for. . . .
he thought he was supposed to go on the carpet, newspaper, towels, whatever was handy.
For the first few months, you're teaching him how to learn. Get him off to a good start
with proper training accompanied by developing a good relationship with him, and you've got a great companion for life.
