I took Roxie home a few hours after her spay. I couldn't leave her there unsupervised, and I figured she would be more comfortable at home with us. She came home and slept for most of the first 24 hours.
Make sure you ask about pain meds. I didn't and I feel bad every time I think about how much pain she must have been in the first few days.
