The nurseries I've worked in have always recommended taking home a blanket to let the dogs get used to the smell. Also, let them get used to everything- a dirty diaper, the smell of formula (if you are going to use it) the sound of a breast pump, if that's your plan. Let them check out the car seat, the crib the whole 9 yards.
If the dogs haven't been exposed to babies at all, you can put on TLC's "A baby story" and let them hear what a crying baby sounds like- that sound scared the bejeebers out of my cocker spaniel at first.
