Yep, I remember the pain of potty training. Don't worry, you will get there.

There is a ton of good advice here on potty training. I really don't have anything new to say, but maybe this bears repeating:

- Until your dog is reliable, he must either be crated, or you are watching him with BOTH eyes. Generally speaking, you should keep him confined to a small area until he is 100% reliable in that area, then gradually increase it, wait until he is 100% reliable in that area, etc. You can try the "umbilical cord" method if that works better for you.

- Your dog might be "poop strolling": starting in the right place, and walking around until he drops in an entirely different location. The best way to know if that's happening is to be watching him closely at all times when he's roaming.

- You can control when your dog poops. Generally, about an hour after he eats, so if you control the food schedule, you control the poop schedule. Also, you can teach him to pee/poop on command so you can see him going and be sure it's in the right area.
