More than likely Lucy was grabbed around the neck to hold her still. I had gone through a very similar incident about 5 years ago with our Pom. She came back from the groomers infested with fleas and had to go into the vet for allergies from them. Vet gave me some spray I had to shave her underside to make sure the spray got on her skin and saw bruising . Since then I have learned by trial and error to groom my dogs myself. Now I do a pretty good job and have saved tons of money . Just remember it is just hair and it will grow back.
