Also how does he do on the purina? Is he healthy when he is on that? What does the vet say about his diet? I am not familiar with the ingredients of the moist and meaty... But if he does well on it and the vet has no concerns I would stick with what he is healthiest on. If the vet has concerns about the food then maybe he can recommend something else, maybe a prescription diet would be better.
