I was just reading through this very upsetting thread. Your baby and you certainly have gotten a lot of loving support from the people of YT. I'm glad to hear your little guy is starting to feel better. Such an awful thing to happen. I hope that women had her dog put down. I was just wondering if you own your home and if you have home owners insurance. If you have a home owners policy it may very well cover any expenses caused by this attack that the women does not cover. You don't know if your little fella may have problems that result from what has happened to him later down the line. I sure hope not but it is worth looking into. People pay for insurance for things just like this. I would just have some of your dogs visit a friend if an insurance adjuster had to come visit you. With little dogs like yours most neighbors can't tell one dog from another and probably are not sure how many dogs you have so I wouldn't worry too much about that. Those laws are generally to prevent breeders from being in the neighborhood or to protect people from collectors.
I know that pit bulls have terrible reputations because of the way people have bred them and trained them to be mean. One of my daughters has two pit bulls and they are very sweet babies. They were raised from young puppies to be sweet and obedient. No one has ever been mean to them or them to anyone else. These things happen because of the people who own the animals. My oldest son was attacked by a German Shepherd when he was 5 years old. The dog had been chained up all it's life and it saw kids playing nearby. It got all excited and broke the chain and mauled the first child it could get it's mouth on. I don't blame the dog but I do blame the people who get a dog and chain it up because they are too stupid to know how to train it properly.
I hope your baby makes a speedy recovery and that he will remember none of what happened to him. |
