About a month ago I noticed a golfball sized black spot on my 2 year old yorkies back. I noticed that the hair was falling out in that spot. The skin also turned dark, and began peeling off. I took him to the vet, and the vet said it looked like some type of burn... possible came into contact with a chemical, or a sunburn, and said not to worry about it. The hair has began growing back, but it is black?

in the meantime, the spot has grown up his back, mostly around or touching his spine. The hair is falling out in these spots, and growing back black. The skin in these areas is red, and irritated. Im concerned because his hair is falling out. His legs, head, and underside are all fine, its only his back.

Has anyone had this happen to their yorkie?

I will post pictures.
