How strange. If it were my Vets. office staff, they would have ask the Vet., and the Vet. would have ask me to bring her in for a quick look, and at no charge. Marci, if that area gets any more swollen, I'd take her in. My Papillon, Spicy, had some kind of infection on her back a few weeks ago. I noticed a patch of hair sticking up so I pulled the hair back and there was a drop of puss. I got tissues, cotton balls and peroxide and then squeezed that area to get all the infection out as I could and it didn't hurt her at all. So I guess these infections directly under the skin aren't painful. This is why I would suggest taking her in if the swelling gets any worse.
