I personally think an electric fence is mean and I have heard stories of many dogs taking the shock to go chase after another animal or car also it doesnt keep animals out so a bigger dog could come right over and into your yard and mess with your dog. Also if your tying your dog outside you should not hook the tie to his collar it is not good for him especially if he is pulling.
