I have two that are very quiet Rubin and Abba. Ginny Joy only barks at real things like the trash truck, someone at the door, or when someone tries to take her toy or treat. But Gracie, BARKS and BARKS ... a lot. She cries waa waa, whines, complains, growls, snorts, yips, and howls, mostly just to hear herself make noise. We are always saying Quiet Gracie, Enough ! She stops for a little bit then forgets and barks some more. She was a rescue and I am convinced teaching them to be quiet has to be done when they are young. I think quiet is good. I love my little Gracie, I wish she could just relax and enjoy the love and security.
