You may want to take him to the vet for IV fluids, when they won't eat they will not drink either. Getting dehydrated makes you feel terrible and you have no appetite.
For eating you probably are going to have to force feed the puppy until it will eat on it's own again. Try other things - lean hamburger, scrambled eggs, even a little vienna sausage to stimulate it's appetite. If nothing works draw up some chicken baby food in an oral syringe & put in the side of the mouth. Give a little at a time so the puppy swallows instead of chokes.
Since the puppy is only 8 ounces it doesn't have much "reserves" and any hypoglycemia can be life threatening.
