Default Luxating Patella

Hoping someone might have some experience with knee problems. About a month ago we took Sailor to our vet as we saw her knee slipping in and out of place.....he said she has luxating patella most likely due to being born bow legged.
Now today we went back - as Kristin mentioned above - because she will not put any pressure on it and he said she tore a ligament(s).

Does anyone else have experience with these type of knee problems?? I can tell you that after we gave Sailor the muscle relaxer this afternoon, she is begining to put some weight back on the leg again. The vet said time and rest is the best thing for her........but that is easier said than done....she would rather play than rest!!
