I took Chloe in to the vet this morning for her annual check up and to make the arrangements to have her spayed. She was my DD's dog up until two months ago when she gave me Chloe to keep (Yippee
) She hadn't decided if she would have her fixed so now that she is my little girl the surgery is booked
I had a couple of concern to discuss with the vet. There are a few spots on her teeth that seem to have bad tartar and I also noticed that her hip? was clicking/clunking.
It seems that there are still 3 baby teeth that are going to be removed and then a thorough cleaning as well which will be done at the same time as her spay. The hip turned out to be her knee, it was never noticed during her other exams and I am not sure if it would have been found this time if I hadn't noticed. The vet says it is Luxating Patella and that this could mean that at some point in the future she could need surgery
I am glad that I discovered the problem so that I can switch her diet to a joint health food and that I am now aware of the issue so that if she develops issues I will know what is going on.
Its stlll upsetting to know that my little girl has a health issue. Does anyone else have a dog with this condition ?
