I just had an incident with one of my pups. He got into treats and ate more than he should have...they are healthy treats, but too much of a good thing did him in. Plus, he does have some intolerances to certain foods.
He got sick and started vomiting. Took him to the vet and his lipase and liver enzymes were elevated ... this happened overnight. His labs have always been normal. He is on Metronidazole and is going in on Thursday for a recheck to see if they stabilize. So.....yes, certain foods and treats can alter these levels. Perhaps his liver was just a bit inflammed that day.
I think your vet is doing the right thing...recheck hopefully will be normal.
