Wellll, in general I agree. I don't think hitting people of dogs/cats is good, HOWEVER when either is being inappropriately aggressive, for me, all bets are off. When someone tried to steal my Cali I did things I didn't know I could do and would never think of doing otherwise. It was all about protecting and taking care of her. No time to run get someone else. I would hate to think that that big dog would have gone after your young son, however.
