IMO (for what that's worth) is your husband is right, getting a second puppy that's only a few months younger than your current one makes for great doggie friends. One most likely will end up being the alpha but friends still the same. Getting a second Yorkie friend for our first was the best thing we ever did...now getting the third, then the fourth I've begin to question my sanity, it's nice, but I feel I can't give them all equal attention. With two it was easy to take them both out and about. Now when I try to take the younger two out the older two are jealous and it's chaos upon returning home. I know some people take all of their multiple Yorkies out and about at the same time, but I don't think I could. Two at a time is about all I can handle.
Anyway, yeah, get a second Yorkie you'll be glad you did.
