When I got my Yorkie at 6 weeks old, he was covered in fleas too. My vet told me to bath him in Lemon Joy dishwashing liquid. It worked great. I bathed him the night I got him and again the next morning and all of the fleas were gone. I would do that and then when he is 8-10 weeks I think you can start him on the Advantege.
