I was suggested by a friend to put a bell by the door and giggle it every time we go out and that is a great idea exept for the fact that my children would be gingling it all the time. Welcome to YorkieTalk and congratulations on your new pup.
Three months is very young to expect a Yorkie to be 100% potty trained and able to alert you when she needs to go outside. It's not impossible, but not typical. That is why frequent and scheduled potty breaks are recommended.
Many Yorkies do not bark for up to a year, or bark very little. My younger boy Teddy comes to me when he has to go. I'm not sure how to explain, but I know what he needs when he comes. To train for this, I would start by asking your pup frequently if she needs to "go potty" or "go outside." Use key words and phrases consistently and she will learn to associate them with the activity. Go outside with her and when she does her business, praise profusely and give a small treat (I use a single kibble).
Take her for potty breaks when she wakes from sleeping/naps, after meals, after play sessions or any activity, and frequently in between.
If bells are out, you will have to keep a watchful eye. Your pup will likely learn to go to the door or come to you when she has to go.
