Since we have had her she has only had 2 maybe 3 accidents in the house and they were only when I was busy with something else etc but she does not let us know in anyway that she has to go. I was suggested by a friend to put a bell by the door and giggle it every time we go out and that is a great idea exept for the fact that my children would be gingling it all the time. Any ideas on how we can get her to let us know she has to go??? Thanks
Congrats on your new puppy, I'm glad you are enjoying her. At 12 weeks old she is still a complete baby. Count yourself lucky that she is doing so well. You can try a bell on the door but a lot of Yorkies are not good at barking or letting you know. I have one that does spins by the front door if she needs out but the others don't tell me at all. I just have to remember to let them out every few hours. Please confine her to a play pen or crate when you can't watch her and this will help. Your breeder should be able to help you with any potty training issues. Have you called or emailed the breeder?
By the way - IMO you really don't want to encourage barking. Some Yorkies can and do yap and bark more than some other breeds. If you have a quieter one enjoy it!!!
