Cleaning plaque is important, but it's really the plaque at and below the gumline that is responsible for tooth loss. You won't be able to do that with an in home regimen. Even working at the gum line is dangerous because you are releasing millions of bacteria near a highly vascular site which can lead to septicemia.
And I second (or is it third) the recommendation that you have the double canines removed.
