That's a tad harsh. The OP isn't the one giving up the pup, her mom is the one that made that suggestion. And she didn't buy a male, she accepted him as a rehome.

I do agree with Karen on this one. I think 2 dogs for a 15 year old is way too much responsibility. It's a lot more money, and a lot more time. School will be starting soon, and if she were to get her new little girl on a break, like Christmas, it will only be a few weeks. What about training a new little girl? Making sure she is eating? Has clean potty pads? etc.

I can see why the OP's mom would suggest to make room. I don't understand, or agree with that idea, but her house is crowded enough. If dressing a yorkie in cute girly clothes is the reason for wanting a girl, dress up your boy in girls clothes. Most people think my boy is a girl anyway, it wouldn't be a big leap for me.
