Default My experience about flying with Yorkie to Europe and back

Happy New Year everone!
I just got back from my trip to Germany and I have to say that it went so much better than I possibly thought it could.
Simba was great in the plane, I don't think the flight attendants were aware of his presence and I kept him on my lap underneath the blanket for 99% of the time. He just slept and I gave him some nuctrical and a little bit of water. I had given him little to eat the night before to prevent certain "accidents" on the plane. I took him to the bathroom a couple of times with a pee pad but of course with all the noise and different surrounding he wouldn't go so I kept the pee pad on him too (which he didn't use either throughout the whole flight). Pretty much he held it in for 15 hours straigt. It was really funny though, as soon as we walked through the exit door at the Munich airport, he had hardly set a foot on the other site, Simba peed for what seemed like 5 minutes. You really could see the relief in his eyes. Good boy, I was so proud.

He also loved the snow and it was nice to be able to take him with me everywhere, shops, restaurants, etc. you name it. Europe is much more lenient with dogs than here in the U.S.

Oh, I also was never asked for any documentation there or here but I am still glad I was all prepared.

I hope this info will help someone else who will fly with their dog.
