Yikes! My Yoda has jumped off the bed before on purpose. It's pretty high, maybe 3 and a half feet? Also, last month when UPS man came, he jumped off the bathroom counter and went SPLAT! on his belly 3.5 feet below onto a hard surface.
Perhaps use some mesh fencing for your deck? At least for a little while until schatzie learns? You could also put her on a high surface and watch her closely and see if she realizes it's dangerous or not. Of course pad everything down below just in case.
I really don't want Yoda jumping off of anything high, as he already has a bum leg that goes out once in a while, and it won't be helped any if he keeps putting so much pressure on it.
You can also buy or make some steps and teach Schatzie how to use them. |
