Ours came home later the same day. I could understand the vet maybe wanting to keep him overnight so that he could be monitored, but if there isn't anyone in the office, I don't understand the point. I agree with others it would be much better to have him home where you can watch him and get him to the ER if something should go wrong. If your vet does not agree, I would look for a new vet.
