We had a similar thing happen to us this past winter. We rolled the can to the end of the driveway (we live on a back country road) and sometime during the day before the garbage truck ran, 2 punks from down the road rolled our can up the road and pushed the entire thing, garbage and all, over a huge hill.

We were able to track the can and the two sets of prints in the snow.
