I was helping at a rummage sale for our therapy dog group in the heat of the Alabama summer. I came out and there was what appeared to be an older dog in the car with the windows cracked. I blew a gasket and yelled at someone in the parking lot to get me a leash and some water and to go page the stupid owner that left their dog in the car. I got the water first and sat in the car with the dog with the door opened. After I got the dog out of the car, I waited for the woman. She came out with her arms full of "stuff" she'd bought at the sale. I was furiuos and told her that she was lucky she still had a dog. She acted sorry - I hope I got through to her, but it still haunts me.
