I don't mind them- because at least where I see them they don't seem to be pushing you at all- they are just there if you WANT to tip. The most common place I see them is Starbucks/ Dunkin Donuts- and I feel like those people do provide me a service. At the Starbucks I went to regularly by my old place- they had my drink ready every morning before I even got to the counter. Sure they might only save my a minute- but it is the thought. Extra caramel sauce? extra whip? grande in a venti cup? no problem- other places might add on little fees. I usually use a card (starbucks card or debit card) so I will just throw a 5 or 10 in every month or so- a little extra on the holidays.
