Yes you have to go back to training and that can be very frustrating for sure.
I would pick the spot you want to put the pads and keep them confined in a xpen or room till they learn what they need to do. I am sure you kind of know there potty habits and times. This will help. You could just use the spot when it's close to the time of day they go out. Then praise praise and good treats. Good luck
