Okay, I have to say this. I don't give a horse's patoot about the vet or anyone saying Greenies are okay for these buggers unless you stay right with them and take it away after 20 mins or so. You all know LuvMyYorkies who has had so many tragedies this past week. She also has a little girl who nearly died and had to have a feeding tube inserted over a greenie. It did NOT get into her intestine and block it. The greenie became stuck in the esophagus and caused irrepairable damage--paralyzed the area, thickened it and ballooned it out. She has to eat gruel-consistency food or liquids for the rest of her life. Helen was told greenies would be safe for the dogs.
We now use the bright green rubber-type Greenies but not rawhide or Greenies will be found in our homes. It is not worth the chance of damage to our babies because there are many more treats that really are safe...
