I got so excited when I saw you responded to this question on how to teach them. Unfortunately Monkey is always annoyed with me so not sure that would be motivation enough for him to catch on.
As an example, today we worked on our trainers assignment to speed up his reaction time to the "down" command. Assignment: Do 10 downs one right after the other as fast as you can. Well, let's just say our time was SLOW and then at about the 6th time I got him back up and said "down" he sat and gave me the look of "you have got to be kidding me...I was just down there!" And we had a staring contest. LOL!!!
I e-mailed my trainer for advise and was told to "up the ante on the treat" but I was giving him poached chicken breast. How much better does he want than home made chicken treats.
Sigh... like I said, he is always annoyed by me. LOL
