I dont know if he was caged as a puppy. We were unable to see his home life before we got him due to him being so far away from us in location (lession learned).. All I know is that he absolutely hated being crated or caged when we got him. We still have a hard time at night with him. We have to keep his crate in our bedroom at night by the bed. He does pretty good during the day. I hate to keep him caged during the day, but he still is not completely potty trained and chews up everything at this point. Hopefully soon he will graduate from the x-pen and have free range of the house while we are away. I have not tried the rescue remedy. I just hate trying to give him somethin because it stresses him tremendously. He fights me tooth and nail if I try to restrain him for anything. But I need to try something to help him.
