Sounds just like Tibbe, the head cocking. And I of course talk to him in full sentences and good grammar - he'd expect nothing else. But when he really doesn't understand, he cocks that head and watches me like a hawk. I explain in other terms or words I think he understands and he seems to relax, as if to say "I get it". And I think he really does as he usually acts a step before I do when I get up to go do something, going in the direction that I was planning to go. He somehow knows me and my schedule, body attitude and facial expressions, sighs, smells, etc., so well, that he mostly knows what I am about to do to a significant extent. Uncanny dog.
