Oh Brittany I am so sorry to hear this about Jackson. As hard as it is on you, he will be home soon. I don't think anyone on here is going to say you are a bad mother. It is hard to stick to the "rules" for these little guys. You took him in to get the care he needed right away. You've acknowledged what most likely caused it (which bad doggie parents probably wouldn't have a clue!). I wish more adults took as good of care of their pets as you do with Jackson. And we all know you are going to do right by him when he gets back home.
Now turn the lemons into lemonade as you learn to "stretch" yourself to be more assertive with all those loving family members. We all know you will because it is best for Jackson's health. And most importantly, even when Jackson is begging for a little taste of something and not getting it from you, he knows you love him. You'll have to keep reminding yourself of that.
