it seems to be the general way of thinking (more so here tan un the US i think) that to get a yorkie you have to buy it- they are expensive dogs so there is no way anyone would 'get rid'? wrong! check out your local shelters and pounds.. did you know that as a rule every city pound will have a yorkie every other week at least? and the bigger the area covered by the pound the higher the anual pts rate of yorkies.
many shelters have lists of dogs (availale at the front desk) who need rehomed but not urgently enough to be surrendered into kennels, so you may find your baby there... or you could put your name on a waiting list to be notified as soon as a suitable yorkie comes in?
9/10 the owner who surrenders to the shelter will give a full history with the dog- and there is no monetary incentive to lie as they are not seling their dog from the home. many rescues will even have their medical documents in a folder along with them!
