I take them in the carrier to the bathroom, take them out in the bathroom and let them go and then put them back in before I leave. The flight attendants have noticed and they never care- they usually say something like "guess its time for a bathroom break"- LOL. I am really good on the plane about following the rules- they stay in the carrier totally under the seat in front of me for the entire flight, they are very quiet, etc. So I think they are willing to let it slide just for a quick potty break, especially since they are only out inside the bathroom.
