I am probably going to have many members disagree with my post here, but this is what I have found out having Schatzie and a previous Yorkie (RIP).

I believe that a Yorkie's coat good or bad is mostly in the genes. The Yorkie will either have a great perfect coat or one not so desireable no matter how expensive the coat products used or the type of food.

Schatzie is on very expensive food and coat products. She is brushed daily and bathed often as needed. Her coat is HORRIBLE. My previous Yorkie had a nice coat.

Again, I think it is mostly in the Yorkies genetics....

We have a lady come once a month to our dental lab business, she brings Maddie her little Yorkie who also is 3 years old. Maddie is soooo cute and has a wavy coat. She is kept in a puppy coat for more managability.

Now Schatzie's coat is not wavy yet straight but real stringy. After a couple years of letting it grow out just for my own desire's to see her coat long and have pic's taken. I will cut her coat to a puppy coat for easier managability.

I have tried so many differant types of products, her coat does not change...

I've accepted that her coat is what it is....less desirable, oh well.
