Oh dear, I do have some questions for you; 1) are you using an enzymatic cleaner to clean up the pee stains? If not, then to the dog's nose the smell will still be there.

Most important question is are you willing to take over his training? HItting a dog so much that it causes "bruising" is never okay no matter what size of dog you have. This is animal cruelty.

Dogs are not peeing on furniture or rugs or floors out of some human notion of payback. I m sure you know this, as your post indicated that; just agreeing with you here.

If the dog hasn't been checked out for a UTI then he needs to be. Is this dog neutered and is the female neutered?

If you are willing and able to put in the time to train this dog, then I suggest you talk with your Mom about allowing you to do so. Show her the training manual/book, you are going to use, and ask for her support in applying these methods.

If that is not going to work out, then I highly suggest you contact a reputable rescue who will find this dog a loving home, where he can be safe from further human aggression.
