Yes, raw diets can cause bone fragments to collect in the colon. Then defecation becomes difficult and painful. I don't know what is wrong with your pup, but that is definitely a "side effect" of the raw diet. That is one of the reasons that many of us have opted to skip it.
I wish I would have known this was a possibility! She was in excruciating pain. She actually screamed out when it first started and that broke my heart. It also put me into panic mode which is not good. I need to be more calm, for her. She has not defecated today but hopefully she will tonight. Then in a few days we will have another xray and make sure these bones are gone. I am switching foods.
