Try taking the toy away for a couple of days and see what happens. My Cooper is obsessed with his ball. He won't play with anything else but he lays with his ball, plays with it, brings it to bed, etc. If I take it away he'll start acting more normally and begin focusing on other things.

Poor Cooper. I saw a show Victoria Stillwell did on OCD in dogs. One was a hunting dog who kept licking objects nonstop.
