Default Hair in the eyes - Solved!

Susie has a perpetual hair in the face problem. She's cotton coated so her hair is thick, soft and long for an 8 month old. To make matters worse, all the hair from just behind her ears forward to her eyes grows so that it hangs straight down into her eyes. I keep it up in a topknot which she doesn't mind at all, so that part is usually not too much of a problem. The hard part has been the hair on her nose that is fluffy enough to puff up into her eyes. Someone on the list suggested getting hair wax like the kids use to spike their hair. I tried it and it worked for the nose problem. (First I put it in the corners of my own eyes to make sure it was gentle.) Then I got to thinking about another problem. When Susie plays with Mom's dog, Little Bit, who is Susie's litter mate, Little Bit grabs Susie by the topknot and hauls her around the room. It hurts! So we've been taking out the topknot when they play but then Susie is handicapped because she can't see. So today I tried the wax. I took out the topknot and liberally waxed all the hair from the ears forward and then slicked it back with a comb. She played with Little Bit for several hours, and although she was pretty messy looking when we brought her home, she could still see pretty well and she hadn't had a handle for Little Bit to yank on. Success!!!! Many thanks to whoever made the wax suggestion!
