Shampoo and conditioner --- mine went crazy first trip to the beach...digging and playing in the sand. Was great fun - so I couldn't stop them from enjoying themselves --- but oh the sand embedded in their hair ;-( --- so baths as soon as we got back to where we were staying.
Maybe a retractable leash...so they have some digging room but not so long that you can't snatch them back quickly...one of mine almost attacked a big dog on the beach - could have turned out badly.
