I took the pledge. The one that is on there Man's Best Friend in the town I live in is horrible. My sister and I went in there a few months back when we were in the mall. The dogs were in glass enclosed cages with a tiny air vent. We complained to the staff that some of the dogs looked like they were overheated and not getting enough air. She said oh we trade them out every so often to the open enclosure. This was a pen where anyone can manhandle them. I called the mall and complained and they called back and said they passed on my concern to the store and they assured them they were all fine. I also talked to the shelter I volunteer at and asked about a humane investigation and she said it is almost impossible to close them down because the laws are so lenient. Just sickens me. I will never buy from a store that sells dogs. |
