Default Bloodwork - High Lipase- - Question

I took Betty Boop to the vet this morning for her yearly checkup. Everything was perfect except 2 areas:

WBC - 5.42 (Norm 5.50 - 16.90) -- He said he wouldn't worry about this. He gave some explanation but I don't remember what he said.

LIPASE - 5149 U/L (Norm 200 - 1800) He mentioned Pancreatitis. I told him she is not exhibiting any signs of illness whatsoever. He was wondering if she might be a ticking time bomb for pancreatitis. He said if the Lipase test (from a new machine strictly for testing Lipase) comes back high, too, then he wanted to change her food.

The clinic bought a new machine that tests Lipase only. He ran some blood through it and it came back normal. He said this machine is a very accurate machine for testing Lipase and he trusts it.

What are your thoughts on this? I trust this vet clinic so much, but I have always been a researcher.

Her teeth are perfect and he said no cleaning was necessary, and wanted me to keep up the good work! I brush a few times a week and it has paid off!!

Any help is appreciated.
