I didnt take Mina anywhere until she had finished all of her shots. Kennel Cough is kind of like whooping cough in people. The Kennel Cough (Bordotella) is not required in most states but sense I have 6 dogs all of mine get this shot and it is given every 6months. There is some debate about injection vs the nose drops. Mine get the injection.
I do understand that this is very hard on their immune system and should not go anywhere until they are completely over it. Ive read threads from others that have stated that it has taken as much as 3months to get over it completely. If you have other dogs and they have not had the shot,then there is a chance that they might get it as well. I would call the vet and inquire as to his recommendations other than keeping the baby away from everyone else,KC is an airborne disease and that is what makes it so contagious.
