Congratulations on your darling tiny pup.

You are so right, that Yorkies are hard to come by in Hawaii. Responsible breeders who keep pups until 12 weeks are almost unheard of here.

My Yorkie Tiki is 3, and I have 3 Morkies (Maltese/Yorkie mix) Meika 3, and Kayla and Karlee 2. All are from Honolulu.

There is so much information available to you on Yorkie Talk. If you have any questions, just ask, and do visit some of the sections in the "Library" for a start. Owning a new tiny pup is a big responsibility, so make sure you know how to prevent and treat hypoglycemia, protect her from falling and getting stepped on, don't let her around other dogs until she has all her shots, etc.

Thanks for the welcome! I felt so sad and mad for Ahi the first night. She actually scrambled out of her bed and slept on me under my chin and the whole time she was making a sucking sound. I do honestly wish she was with her mama till at least 10-12 weeks. When I got her they said oh she's 8 weeks old...um got home and did my math...I got her on a Saturday..she didn't turn 8 weeks till that coming Wednesday. She already settled into my family and it's wonderful to see how she interacts with each of my kids and my hubby. She is overly playful with my 5 year old like a playmate. Very cuddly and loving to my 8 year old. And definitely loves males. She gets very excited to see and play with my son and hubby.(I noticed that she plays with them differently than with my girls) And most of all she knows that i'm her mama. When she gets scared or unsure of something..she runs to me and likes me to pick her up and cuddle her. She just melts my heart!
I'm also very protective of her. When we are out and someone wants to touch her I politely tell them no because she hasn't had all her shots yet. And when I took her to a very nice family owned pet store for some supplies a worker asked to weigh her and take a picture of her from his phone. I told him ok....as long as he sterilized his hands and the scale. He was actually so happy that I required it. He was planning on sterilizing it anyways. Then he went on telling me how he highly emphasizes to new owners of the puppies they sell on clean hands and not letting other people touch the puppies till all shots are given. Honestly i'm more germaphobic with Ahi than I ever was with my kids when they were babies. lol

Roni~
p.s. Your house sounds as active as mine is with all those furbabies.
